Session Guidelines
This is not a typical interview-style podcast so I won’t have a list of questions. It’s important that you come prepared with a story or stories.
Recording sessions are relaxed. We’ll chat a bit at the beginning, and when you’re ready, you can dive into your story.
Your road stories can include tours, work-related, backpacking, road trips, vacations…
I’m looking for narratives of all lengths, focusing on specific events rather than general career overviews. Additionally, I’m interested in your personal experiences, but I’m also open to great stories about a friend or family member.
I edit the episodes to enhance the audio and narrative flow, so no worries making mistakes.
Some guests use notes while sharing their story, but please do not read directly from a fully written-out script.
Here's a list of story prompts to help jog the memory.
Technical Details
For the recording, please use a computer with headphones plugged in. Please use an updated version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as your browser. Also have your smartphone handy.
I use Riverside FM, an online recording platform. You’ll find your session link in the email that brought you here and in your calendar invitation.
This is an audio-only podcast, I don’t record the video - so no need to dress up.
Choose a quiet environment, free of pets and loud appliances. Also close all windows. Avoid large, sparsely furnished spaces. Smaller rooms or walk-in closets are ideal.
For the best audio quality, use headphones and use the best microphone available. Quality external mics are preferred - the types of mics people use on stage or in a studio.
If you don’t have a computer, download the Riverside FM app on your smartphone. It’s available in app stores, or you can use the link in the email that brought you here. Do not hold your phone while we record. Place the phone as close to your head as possible.
If you have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out. Looking forward to hearing your stories!
